
Media Headquarters
The media
headquarters for the 2006 NCAA Division II Football Championship is
the Hampton Inn in Florence. A limited number of rooms is available.
Please contact 256-764-8888 at the
Hampton Inn to reserve a room. Be sure to indicate that you are
with the media, covering the championship game when making a
reservation.
A media hospitality
suite will be set up and staffed by the Hampton Inn throughout the
week. Please check at the front desk in the lobby of the hotel
for the location of the hospitality suite.

Media Credentials
Jeff Hodges, Sports
Information Director at the University of North Alabama, will serve as
the media coordinator for the championship game. All media
credential requests should be directed to Mr. Hodges at 256-765-4595.
The local organizing committee is requesting that sports information
directors of the participating schools arrive in Florence no later
than noon Tuesday before the game, to assist in the promotion of the
game during the week.
Credentials can be
picked up at the KICK-OFF NEWS CONFERENCE and LUNCHEON, on Thursday
before the game at the SunTrust Bank in Florence. Any remaining
credentials not distributed on Thursday can be obtained by contacting
the North Alabama Sports Information Office at 256-765-4595 or at the
Braly Municipal Stadium WILL CALL WINDOW on Saturday of the game.
(WILL CALL WINDOW is located at the north gate ticket window (West
side) of Braly Municipal Stadium off Royal Avenue.
Due to limited
workspace in the Braly Municipal Stadium press box, press seating will
be assigned with the following priority.
- National
press, newspaper sports reporters/writers from the immediate locale
of the event and sports reporters/writers from the immediate locale
of the competing teams.
- Radio
station/network personnel doing play-by-play for the two competing
schools. (Broadcast booth space will be assigned)
- Non
play-by-play reporters
- Student
newspapers and radio stations
Note: Cheering
in the press box will not be tolerated. Unprofessional behavior
will result in the confiscation of working press credentials.
Photographers/Video
NCAA Division II
Football Championship Game photo credentials must be visible at all
times. Sideline photographers are restricted outside the 25-yard
lines in the areas designated and are reminded to stay behind the
dotted restraining line around the field. No media personnel,
including journalists, radio and television personnel or their
equipment, shall be in the team area or coaching box.
Press Conferences
The media has been
invited to a Kick-Off News Conference and luncheon sponsored by
SunTrust Bank of Florence on Thursday, preceeding the game.
Directors of Athletics, head coaches, and designated players of the
participating teams will meet the press. Harlon Hill nominees
will be introduced at this time.
After the Game
Following a 10-minute
cooling off period, post-game interviews will take place in a meeting
room located in the Hospitality Room West Concourse (press box side)
of Braly Municipal Stadium. Only individuals displaying proper
credentials will be permitted in the locker room/post game interview
area.
The losing coach and
selected/requested players will speak and answer questions first,
followed by the winning coach and players.

Sports Information
Directors are requested to aid the NCAA Division II Football
Championship Game Media Coordinator in planning pre-event
radio/television/print interviews with head football coaches and/or
selected players. Interview requests prior to or after practice
will be granted at the discretion of the Sports Information Director.
